Stanford 1st XV 36 Ongar 1st XV 10

Stanford entertained Ongar this week and everything clicked into gear for Stanford, backs and forwards were combining well with Stanford's backs making inroads into the Ongar half almost at will this paid off with Liam Morley getting the first try after a good move saw the number eight finish in the corner. Stanford kept the pressure up and his second soon followed converted by Dave Kelway. This was soon followed up with Danny Jackson getting a well deserved try after smashing through Ongar's defence again converted by Kelway. But for some missed passes the first half score would have been greater.

The second half began and Stanford were caught sleeping for the first 10 minutes when a soft kick was picked up by Ongar's winger for him to score in the corner. Then some woeful attempts at a tackle allowed their fly half to run in another try. Finally Stanford woke up and this allowed Liam Morley to get his hat trick when he caught a kick off and scored a solo effort. More pressure from Stanford allowed Morley to break again but this time he popped the ball up for his skipper Reece Anderson to score. Another flowing move from the backs saw Charlie Windsor score under the posts with Kelway converting.

Man of the Match went to Nick Towison with a special mention going to Tony Cumbers and Charlie Windsor for coming on at short notice. This week Stanford travel to Brightlingsea.
