UNDER 7

A squad of just 7 players meant the U7's were in for a long and tiring day as each player had to play every game.

In the pool games, Stanford started against a very good and disciplined Burnham side, losing the game 7 tries to 4.

The second game, against Upper Clapton, saw an improvement in tagging coming out eventual winners 6 tries to 5.

The last pool game, against Brentwood, in which the winners would come runners up in the pool, started well but with no subs to call on and a few dodgy touch-line decisions Stanford seemed to fade, finally losing 5 tries to 3.

Bowl Semi-Final

After 3 tough pool games, Stanford gave their all against South Woodham Ferrers but it was not to be, as SWF came out eventual winners, 7 tries to 4.

UNDER 8

Stanford 25 Brentwood 30

A very tight game against a good Brentwood side saw Stanford suffer their only defeat of the day. Try scorers were Vinny Gordon 2, Callum Newton, Ben Kelly and Jack Knight.

Stanford 30 Upper Clapton 20

Another tight game against another good side saw Stanford win by 2 tries. Try scorers were Ben Kelly 3, Jack Knight 2 and Callum Newton. 

Stanford 35 Braintree 25

Stanford's win never really looked in doubt in this game and they ran out easier winners than the scoreline suggested. Try scorers were Jack Knight 4, Callum Newton 2 and Max Clarke.

This meant Stanford finished second in the pool to Brentwood and went into the Plate semi-final

Plate semi final    Stanford 15 Thurrock 10

Another very tight game against local rivals Thurrock with the scores 10 all at half time was settled by a try from Max Clarke in the second half. Try scorers were Marcus Edgeway, Vinny Gordon and Max Clarke.

Plate Final    Stanford 40 Woodford 35

Stanford managed to edge out Woodford in a very tight final with some good defence and strong attacking play Try scorers were Callum Newton 4, Ben Kelly 2 and Jack Knight 2

Parents player of the day went to Vinny Gordon for his outstanding support play. Well done Vinny.
