Try scorers: Callum Newton 3, Vinnie Gordon 2, Max Clarke and Zack Burdett.
Short of a few experienced players and with some new players making their debut, this could have been a tricky encounter against a good passing side. However, the senior players left with the team played outstandingly well and were well supported by the rest of the team. Stanford played rolling substitutions througout both games to give all the growing squad game time and were in contol of both games from the start, slacking off a little in each match to make the scoreline closer than it could have been.
Parents player of the day was Zack Burdett who scored 2 good trys and played well both in defence and in attack. Well done Zack.
Congratulations also to Josh and Jake who played in their first matches for the under 8s. |

The Easter holidays affected both teams but with a bit of mix and matching two games were played. It is to the credit of the Stanford players who volunteered to play for the opposition and who in some cases played a little too well !! Stanford were a bit slow to start but soon began to dominate all areas and scored some well worked tries.
Tries by: Ryan Cronin 2, James Kitchen 2, Jake Kerr, Dominic McDonald. Conv : J. Kitchen 2, G Taylor 2, D McDonald.

Upper Clapton did not roll over, they put up a good fight and at times asked questions of Stanfords defence, but the home side were in no mood to let them score. When Stanford were in possession they always looked dangerous and using both forwards and backs scored some very good tries. Once again a big thank you to the lads who played for other teams.
Tries by: Musa Yusuff 2, James Kitchen, Jacob Dennis, George Taylor. Conv: George Taylor1, Dominic McDonald, Sean Bunney, Joe `Red` Reilly. |
