This week Stanford U8's finally played their re-arranged match against Thurrock RFC at the Rec on Sunday.

STANFORD 35 THURROCK 5

Stanford completely dominated this game running out easy winners. The coaches were pleased by the way the whole team were involved in both defence and attack with some of the best passing of the season to date. Try scorers were Jack Knight 3, Max Clarke 2, Zack Burdett and Matthew Hook. Matthew's rucking was the highlight for the coaches.

STANFORD 20 THURROCK 0

This was a much tougher and more physical game than the first as Thurrock put in a much better performance, pushing Stanford all the way. The scoreline was a little flattering with 2 tries coming near the end of the match, but Stanford players should be congratulated for their workrate in this match.

Try Scorers: Max Clarke 2, Callum Newton and Vinny Gordon

Player of the day and first recipient of the new trophy was Vinny Gordon for another good performance with some fine tackles.

STANFORD 0 THURROCK 25

Although the effort of the boys could not be faulted, too many missed tackles against a strong Thurrock cost the home side dear.

STANFORD 0 THURROCK 10

A better performance by the home side made the game a lot closer, but the strong running, off loading and solid defence of Thurrock made the difference.
