UNDER 7 BARKING 35 STANFORD 25 Stanford were slow to start but fought back well before the score ended Stanford 25-35 Barking. Scorers for Stanford were William Heavey 3, Harry Jones and Ewan Wood. CHESHUNT 40 STANFORD 40 The second game against Cheshunt was a great game with the lead changing hands a number of times before ending 40-40. Joe Oughton scored his first try for Stanford, the other scorers were Harry Jones 2, Finlay Maher 2, Alfie Desmond, Ewan Wood and Tom Oughton. CHESHUNT 40 STANFORD 30 The final game against a second Cheshunt team ended in a 30-40 defeat for Stanford. Stanford were unlucky not to add to their score on a number of occasions. Scorers: Tom Oughton 2, William Heavey, Ryan Blyde, Ewan Wood and Alfie Desmond who again was outstanding tagging anything that moved. |

UNDER 9 CHESHUNT 10 STANFORD 5 Stanford struggled to understand tougher interpretations of the offside laws at the breakdown and gave away too many penalties to stay in this match and lost by 2 tries to 1. Max Clarke's single try was all the visitors could manage. CHESHUNT 20 STANFORD 20 One of the toughest and hardest fought matches that Stanford had been involved in this season saw Stanford take the lead, but they were unable to hang onto it against a very good Cheshunt side. Tries came from Max Clarke 2, Ben Kelly and Jack Knight. Coaches and parents found it difficult to pick a player of the day due to all round performances from all 9 players available, but all agreed that Callum Newton edged it with some superb tackles in the first game. Well done Callum. |
UNDER 10 BARKING 25 STANFORD 5 Stanford were down to the bare bones with only 9 players available and were a try down after the first move. Against a forward dominated Barking side stanford played some fast flowing passing rugby but the forward power of barking was there downfall, Harry Tillett got Stanford's try. CHESHUNT 20 STANFORD 5 After the Barking game Stanford had a game against the champions of Hertfordshire and can their hold their heads high after another performance that got the whole crowd clapping. Unfortunately tiredness took its toll and Cheshunt got the upperhand. Harry Tilllett got his second of the day and was man of the match for his tireless battling around the fringes, A special mention should go to Robert Smith, who came over to play for us and to the team as a whole for their continuous improvement in playing rugby in the correct spirit. |

UNDER 11 CHESHUNT 0 STANFORD 5 The U11's put on a strong display to beat County champions Cheshunt. Stanford's forwards dominated the first half with the opposition unable to get any ball or get out of their own half. With the backs being given free reign, first signs indicated that this would be a high scoring match for the redmen but Cheshunt dug in and managed to hold on with Stanford scoring just the once. Try Scorer:- Charlie Downes. BARKING 5 STANFORD 25 Having being narrowly beaten by Cheshunt by one try to nil, Barking were well and truely up for playing Stanford but were blown away by a very strong pack. Along with the forwards, the Stanford backs proved once again why they are so dangerous, being able to put together some well worked moves. UNDER 12 BARKING 15 STANFORD 0 Stanford played with great passion, but could not cross the line against a tough home side. With a little luck going their way, the game would have been much closer. CHESHUNT 15 STANFORD 10 A great match for the spectators, both sides played with real determination and Stanford deserved better from the match after tries by Michael Woods and Louis Webb kept Stanford in with a chance. Some brave tackling saw the game go right to the wire. |
